Shift Lead

Job Location: 901 East F Street, Oakdale, CA - Oakdale, CA 95361 Salary Range: $21.00 - $22.50 Hourly. Position Summary The shift leader is an hourly position that provides additional management coverage of operating hours and direct supervision of operations. Focal points include driving customer service and maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hospitality, accuracy, building maintenance, product quality, and speed of service. The shift leader directly performs hands‑on operational work on an ongoing basis to assist in training employees, responding to guest service needs, and role‑model appropriate skills and behaviors in their restaurant. The shift leader may assume full responsibility for the closing of the restaurant and, on occasion, the opening of a restaurant when other management is unavailable. The shift leader ensures that food is served safely, provides consistent customer satisfaction, offers the team a great restaurant to work in, and operates each and every shift to standard at the restaurant. Duties and Responsibilities Greet customers with a friendly demeanor and accurately take their orders. Prepare and package food and drink products according to restaurant standards. Operate cash registers, process payments, and provide change to guests. Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of the restaurant including back‑of‑house, lobby, and restrooms. Assist with food prep and dishwashing as needed. Restock inventory and supplies. Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and policies. Promote new menu items and provide recommendations when asked. Assist with opening and closing tasks. Manage shifts to ensure fair employee treatment and compliance with workplace laws and regulations. Offer ongoing coaching and feedback to team members. Assist with any safety concerns in the workplace. Report any serious issues to the manager and HR as needed. Conduct food safety and prep audits daily. Conduct daily inventory monitoring and share responsibility for cash procedures. Qualifications and Skill Requirements Must be at least 18 years old or older. Strong preference for an internal candidate who has completed all required learning zone training and certifications. High school diploma or GED is preferred. Possess a minimum of 6 months in a shift management or supervisory role, preferably in a service‑related business. Legal right to work in the United States. Ability to work flexible hours. Basic math and reading skills. Solid oral and written communication skills. Ability to learn quickly with a can‑do attitude. Comes to work with good hygiene.
