JOB DESCRIPTION

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES :

As a Personal Trainer at the Summit on the Park, you will assist our clients (members, residents and nonresidents) through your expertise and experience in the following ways:

Fitness Assessments

• Assess the basic physical capabilities of the client up front to determine physical capabilities, needs and areas of improvement, while taking into consideration any physical restrictions due to injuries, medical conditions and client preferences.

Customized Workouts

• Prepare and execute 60-minute sessions to help clients meet their needs, as established during their initial fitness assessment.

Personal Training Consultations

• Meet with potential new clients for a 30-minute consultation to discuss training goals and outcomes.

EXAMPLES OF WORK : (Note: These examples are intended as illustrations of the various types of work performed.)

• Develops and delivers safe, professional, exciting, and comprehensive personal training programs to ensure members are satisfied with their workout program and remain motivated to attain their personal health and fitness goals.
• Reports monthly training sessions and client numbers to the Health & Wellness Specialist.
• Generates client leads by having a presence in the facility and by bringing in current clients.
• Performs Fitness Assessments & Equipment Orientations as needed.
• Performs fitness equipment cleaning during downtime as needed.
• Maintains personal training certifications, CPR certifications and liability insurance.
• Works with the Health & Wellness Specialist to develop personal training promotions and offers.
• Provides basic schedule to the Health & Wellness Specialist.

QUALIFICATIONS :

Education

• High School diploma or GED
• Preferred four-year degree in kinesiology, sports medicine, or other related field, or working towards one.

Experience

• Personal training experience preferred.
• Program design experience preferred.

Licenses/Certifications/Registrations

• Certified Personal Trainer, with a minimum of one certification (ACE, ACSM, NASM, NSCA).
• CPR/AED certification within 60 days of hire.

• Extensive knowledge of fitness, cardiovascular training, nutrition and program design.
• Knowledge of safe exercise techniques and potential injuries and ability to handle emergencies.
• Ability to demonstrate exercises and adjust machine weights, free weights, and cardiovascular equipment.
• Ability to multitask and learn quickly.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to operate office software, including Microsoft Word and

Selection Process:

3. Qualified candidates will be contacted by the Summit Recreation Specialist to discuss the Personal Trainer position and to schedule an interview.
4. Qualified contractor candidates selected to move forward in the process will be asked to complete the Independent Contractor Agreement prior to the interview.
5. All candidates will be notified via EMAIL of the disposition of the employment application.
6. Contract Signed/Executed if selected to provide Personal Trainer services. Being selected to fill this Personal Trainer (Contract-Based) position is not an offer of employment. The Department contracts with the individual to serve as an independent contractor to provide the personal trainer services at the days, times, and places set by the Contractor and as agreed upon in the Independent Contractor Agreement.
