Key Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care for the comfort and well-being of patients using critical thinking and independent judgment
• Utilize all phases of the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Direct and supervise the nursing patient care team, which may include CNAs, LPNs, and other technicians
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in the provision of patient care
• Document patient care, condition, reactions, and responses to treatment in a timely manner and track patient progress
• Care for laboring, delivering, and postpartum patients including newborn care at delivery within an LDRP setting

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of current Birthing Center experience required
• Experience with laboring patients, delivery (including newborn care at delivery), and postpartum care (mothers and babies)
• Active Michigan RN license in good standing (LARA verified)
• Active American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification
• Completed skills checklist current within the last year, pertinent to Labor and Delivery specialty
• Two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification preferred; candidates without active certification must be willing to obtain
• Experience with Cerner EMR
