Immigration Paralegal - All Offices

Location: Open to all Harris Beach Murtha offices (Albany, Buffalo, Ithaca, Long Island (Uniondale), NYC, Rochester, Syracuse and White Plains, NY; Boston, MA; Bantam, Hartford, New Haven and Stamford, CT) for a hybrid opportunity. Role Harris Beach Murtha is seeking an Immigration Paralegal to assist with the preparation of nonimmigrant and immigrant visa applications for corporate and individual clients. 3+ years of Business Immigration paralegal experience required A Bachelor’s Degree in a field emphasizing writing or communication Experience in business and family-based immigration (preferred not required) Superior writing/editing skills for complex support letters and strong written and oral communication skills Experience with MS Office and expertise with computer-assisted legal resources Ability to manage multiple high-volume priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a professional, cooperative, positive and flexible attitude Responsibilities Manage high-volume corporate client accounts and work closely with clients to provide comprehensive immigration services Compile and maintain records of immigration filings, other documentation, and records of activity on behalf of clients Review immigration regulations and apply them to various case scenarios Perform research using all available immigration research tools including government agencies' websites Write detailed and complex supporting argumentation Enter case information into case management system Qualities for Success Exhibit the ability to effectively multi-task, meet deadlines, and provide solutions in a fast-paced office setting Demonstrate good organizational skills for prioritizing workload Believe in the firm’s core values: integrity, respect, accountability, ingenuity, teamwork, and inclusion and engagement Enjoy working with diverse personalities within various levels of the firm Complete a minimum 1400 billable hours annually Are comfortable working in the office every day, with the potential to work a hybrid schedule after training Salary Information Anticipated Weekly Schedules Albany, Buffalo, Long Island (Uniondale), New York City, and White Plains, NY: 40 hours/week Ithaca, Rochester, and Syracuse, NY: 38.75 hours/week Massachusetts and Connecticut: 35 hours/week Salary Ranges Albany and Buffalo, NY: $31.25 - $40.87/hour Ithaca, Rochester and Syracuse, NY: $32.26 - $42.18/hour White Plains and Long Island (Uniondale), NY: $33.65 - $43.27/hour New York City, NY: $36.06 - $45.67/hour Harris Beach Murtha is committed to an inclusive environment and we welcome applications from diverse candidates with varied background and skills, including military experience.
