About Ivanhoe Electric Inc.

We are a United States-based minerals exploration and development company with a focus on supporting American supply chain independence by finding and delivering copper and other critical metals vital to advanced manufacturing, infrastructure development, technology, and national security. 

We use our powerful Typhoon™ geophysical surveying system, together with advanced data analytics provided by our subsidiary, Computational Geosciences Inc., to accelerate and de-risk the mineral exploration process in the search for new deposits of critical metals that may otherwise be undetectable by traditional exploration technologies.

By advancing our portfolio of critical metals exploration projects, headlined by the Santa Cruz Copper Project in Arizona, we intend to contribute to domestic supply by developing resources that support industrial and strategic sectors. We also operate exploration joint ventures and alliances in Saudi Arabia with Maaden, in Chile with Sociedad Química y Minera de Chile ("SQM"), and in the United States with BHP.

General Overview:

The Director will support the execution of Ivanhoe Electric’s investor relations and capital markets communications program. The role is designed to expand the team’s capacity to produce high-quality, investor-ready materials, with a particular focus on drafting press releases, earnings-related communications, and core investor messaging. The position will also support critical investor relations infrastructure, including maintaining the investor website, managing the CRM, coordinating investor engagement logistics, and conducting ongoing market monitoring and analysis.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Manage and contribute to the preparation, review, and delivery of all earnings materials, quarterly and annual reports, and materials for the Annual General Meeting

• Draft, edit, and coordinate press releases and supporting investor communications (e.g., Q&A, messaging, backgrounders), partnering with technical, operations, finance, legal, and leadership to ensure accuracy, clarity, and disclosure discipline
• Cultivate relationships with existing and potential investors, proactively seeking opportunities for engagement, responding to inquiries promptly, and fostering positive interactions.

• Maintain and develop content for corporate presentations, press releases, website, and related scripts for investors, investor conferences, road shows, site visits, and other activities

• Support the quarterly investor update cadence by developing materials and coordinating internal inputs, timelines, and approvals

• Prepare monthly IR reports focused on peer monitoring, shareholder ownership analytics, and ad-hoc reports as requested 
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams both internally and externally to ensure accurate and timely delivery of investor-related information. Work closely with the Director of Marketing and Communications to prepare Senior Management for media appearances and conferences.

• The individual in this role needs to develop a thorough understanding of all aspects of the Company’s business in order to be able to speak on behalf of the Company to investors and analysts when appropriate. 

 

Skills and Experience Required:

Required Skills and Experience

• Strong writing and editing skills with demonstrated ability to convert complex technical and financial inputs into clear, investor-ready communications with high accuracy, attention to detail, and minimal oversight
• Strong verbal communication skills, with experience interacting directly with investors and/or other stakeholders
• Strong organizational and project management skills; comfortable managing multiple workstreams and deadlines, especially around disclosure cycles
• Solid analytical capability and comfort working with market data (peer comparisons, ownership, consensus, news flow) and synthesizing it into actionable summaries
• Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel; ability to produce professional, investor-grade materials
• High judgment, discretion, and attention to detail; able to operate effectively with confidential information and time-sensitive content
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with stakeholders across finance, legal, technical teams, and leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business, Economics, Communications, Engineering/Geoscience, or equivalent
• Experience range: 3-5+ years in investor relations, equity research, investment banking, corporate finance, strategy/communications in a public company environment, or a related role
• Preferred: familiarity with mining/natural resources or energy transition sectors, and/or ability to work with technical content (e.g., resource updates, studies, project milestones)
• Preferred: familiarity with SEC/TSX disclosure practices and public company reporting timelines
• Preferred: experience with IR/market data tools (e.g., Bloomberg, Capital IR, FactSet) and/or IR platforms/CRM systems
• CFA, MBA, CPA, or progress toward a designation is an asset but not required

Additional Details

• Willingness to support time-sensitive deliverables and collaborate across multiple time zones from time to time, which may occasionally require flexibility outside standard business hours 
• Final candidates may be asked to complete a brief writing/synthesis exercise
