Position Summary

Elevated Education is seeking a Campus Director who will take ownership of the Guadalupe Dropout Recovery Learning Center, its students, staff, daily operations, and results. This person will supervise teachers and mentors, maintain a well-run and compliant learning environment, support student academic progress, and lead efforts to retain students and grow enrollment through meaningful community engagement.Mentoring is central to this role. We need a leader who can connect with students, understand the challenges they face, and hold them accountable for moving forward. The Campus Director must model that approach personally and ensure teachers and mentors consistently provide the relationships, structure, encouragement, and follow-through students need to succeed.This is a hands-on leadership position with significant responsibility and high expectations. The right person will be comfortable coaching staff, reviewing student progress, auditing paperwork, addressing problems directly, and getting into the community to build relationships. Success requires both a genuine commitment to serving people and the ability to manage details and deliver results.

Core Responsibilities

Staff Leadership and AccountabilityLead, supervise, coach, and evaluate the teachers and mentors assigned to the learning center. Establish clear expectations for instruction, mentoring, student communication, documentation, professionalism, and follow-through. Conduct regular staff meetings and individual check-ins, provide direct feedback, and address performance concerns promptly in coordination with Elevated Education leadership.Manage staff schedules, coverage, and mentor assignments so responsibilities are clear and students receive consistent support. Participate in hiring, onboarding, and staff development through Elevated Education’s established processes. Build a team culture where staff support one another, take responsibility for their work, and maintain high expectations for themselves and their students.

Student Mentoring and Academic Progress

Build meaningful relationships with students and remain actively involved in their progress. Know which students are succeeding, which are falling behind, and what actions are being taken to support them. Model a mentoring approach that combines trust and encouragement with clear expectations and accountability.Ensure every student has an assigned mentor, understands their academic goals, and receives consistent, meaningful contact whether attending in person or working virtually. Review coursework, credit completion, engagement, and progress toward graduation regularly. When students fall behind, ensure staff establish specific next steps, provide support, and follow through rather than waiting until the end of the month to respond.Coordinate with instructional leaders and student services to support appropriate instruction, tutoring, required assessments, graduation requirements, and services for students with disabilities.

Daily Learning Center Operations

Oversee the day-to-day operation of the learning center, including student supervision, staff coverage, schedules, technology access, supplies, and the overall learning environment. Maintain a campus that is safe, organized, welcoming, and focused on learning.Serve as the primary on-site contact for Boys & Girls Club leadership. Coordinate shared-space use, schedules, facility concerns, and safety procedures while maintaining clear responsibilities between the Club and Elevated Education. Address student, family, staff, and facility concerns promptly, escalating issues through the appropriate channels when needed.Ensure students working virtually receive intentional outreach, academic support, and timely responses, not less attention because they are not physically present.

Compliance, Documentation, and Internal Audits

Own the campus-level implementation of applicable Arizona dropout recovery requirements, Arizona Department of Education guidance, partner-school requirements, and Elevated Education procedures. Work closely with compliance staff, registrars, and instructional leadership to ensure student eligibility, written learning plans, mentor-contact expectations, monthly progress determinations, and enrollment or reentry documentation are handled accurately and on time. Conduct regular internal audits of student files, mentoring records, progress documentation, and campus processes. Verify that records accurately reflect the services provided and the progress students have made. Identify missing or inaccurate information, assign corrective actions, and verify completion.

Student Retention and Reengagement

Take direct responsibility for student retention and timely intervention when students begin to disengage. Establish a consistent process for reviewing missed contacts, stalled coursework, incomplete onboarding, and other warning signs.Ensure new students receive a strong introduction to the program, connect with their teacher and mentor, and begin working toward clear goals. Lead coordinated outreach when students stop responding or making progress, involving families or other support resources when appropriate.Review withdrawal patterns, understand why students leave, and use that information to improve the student experience. Retention efforts must focus on helping students remain meaningfully engaged and progressing.

Enrollment Growth and Community Engagement

Develop and carry out a local outreach plan that grows the learning center through trusted relationships, consistent follow-up, and a strong reputation for serving students well. Know the Guadalupe community and surrounding area, and actively build relationships with families, community organizations, youth-serving agencies, local employers, and other appropriate referral partners.Be willing to leave the campus to attend community events, meet potential partners, explain the program, and connect eligible students with an opportunity to return to school. Work with Elevated Education’s recruitment and marketing teams while taking ownership of local relationship-building and referral follow-up.

Required Qualifications and Capabilities

• Demonstrated leadership ability: Experience supervising, coaching, and holding staff accountable in education, youth development, community programming, or a comparable service-focused setting.
• Strong student relationship skills: Ability to connect with students who have disengaged from school, establish trust, maintain professional boundaries, and hold students to clear expectations.
• Operational and compliance discipline: Strong organization, attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage documentation, review data, conduct internal audits, and follow through on corrective actions.
• Community knowledge and initiative: Familiarity with Guadalupe and surrounding communities, with the ability and willingness to build partnerships, conduct outreach, and represent Elevated Education professionally.
• Communication and technology skills: Ability to handle difficult conversations, communicate clearly with students and adults, and use student information systems, online learning platforms, spreadsheets, and reporting tools

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in dropout recovery, alternative education, credit recovery, or programs serving students who have fallen behind academically. Experience improving student retention, growing enrollment, developing community partnerships, or managing program compliance is strongly preferred.A bachelor’s degree in education, leadership, youth development, business, or a related field is preferred, with relevant leadership experience also considered. English-Spanish bilingual communication skills are a plus.The Campus Director is expected to take ownership of the learning center’s performance, including student progress and retention, staff development, compliance, and enrollment growth. This requires a hands-on leader who knows the students, makes mentoring a priority, holds staff accountable, and actively builds relationships in the community. The Director must stay on top of daily operations, address concerns early, and follow through when improvements are needed. Elevated Education has high expectations for this position: a well-run center, a supported and accountable team, and students who stay engaged, earn credits, and make meaningful progress toward graduation.
