Craniofacial Speech Pathologist
Individuals in this role are key members of a multi-disciplinary team providing services to children with cleft and craniofacial differences. Preferred candidates will have a minimum of 3 years related experience and/or training with a cleft lip and palate/craniofacial team. Responsibilities will include perceptual and instrumental assessment of velopharyngeal function and other craniofacial speech disorders, differential diagnosis of cleft palate-related speech disorders, and involvement in decision-making for surgical or prosthetic management of VPI. Candidates with research interests are welcomed.
The Craniofacial Center specializes in the treatment of cleft lip and palate, craniosynostosis, craniofacial microsomia and other complex craniofacial conditions. Under the leadership of Drs. Michael Cunningham, Medical Director, and Srinivas Susarla, Surgical Director, the center has become one of the largest programs of its kind in the country and one of the busiest clinics in the hospital.
Our multidisciplinary team provides diagnosis and long-term management for children with craniofacial differences. We have a comprehensive craniofacial team of over 40 healthcare providers from 19 specialty areas, dedicated to providing all aspects of care to children with craniofacial conditions. This combination of specialties enables us to create an individual plan of care for each child. Surgical techniques developed by our craniofacial surgeons are revolutionizing the way craniofacial surgery is done all over the world. These innovative procedures enable doctors to address even the most serious and complex craniofacial differences and provide the benefits of improved health and function for an increasing number of children.
Required Education and Experience Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited university. Required Credentials Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Washington State Licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist. Preferred Experience interpreting velopharyngeal imaging studies. Three or more years of experience on multi-disciplinary craniofacial team Pediatric hospital experience. Functional knowledge of a second language.
Compensation Range $46.96 - $70.43 per hour This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided. This compensation range is specific to Seattle, positions located outside of Seattle may be compensated differently depending on various factors.
