Everyone is a caregiver at UMass Memorial Health. Major Responsibilities Utilizes the Nursing Process for delivery and management of patient’s care from Admission to Discharge, appropriate to the developmental age of the patient population. Performs patient assessment/reassessment according to standard procedure. Develops and coordinates individual plan of care including discharge planning. Directs, supervises, coordinates and evaluates nursing care within assigned clinical setting. Delegates appropriately to others in accordance with job description and competency level. Position Qualifications License/Certification/Education - Required Current Massachusetts Nursing licensure and registration. BLS required for every RN unless ACLS is current, plus any unit specific certifications and competencies. Preferred Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. Experience and Skills Thorough knowledge of the discipline of Nursing. Certifications Current Massachusetts Nursing licensure and registration. BLS through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) required for every RN within 30 days of hire. ACLS through AHA required in select areas within 6 months or first scheduled course offering. PALS through AHA required in select areas within 6 months or first scheduled course offering. NRP Advanced Provider through American Academy of Pediatrics required in select areas within 6 months or first scheduled course offering. Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing highly preferred. Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions Work is considered medium. Position requires work indoors in a patient care environment.
