Position Summary We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Surgical Technologist - Ambulatory Surgery Center Manhasset OR, Full‑Time, Days. In this role, the successful candidate under the direction of a licensed professional nurse can scrub on all surgical procedures in the operating room and assist the physician in procedural areas. Job Responsibilities Clinical Takes initiative to make recommendations to leadership for new and updated physician preference cards in a timely and accurate manner for patients and physicians. Utilizes patient procedure and position to determine the plan of care. Anticipates and gathers needed supplies and equipment prior to the provision of care based on the procedure preference card and escalates outstanding needs with the RN circulator. Demonstrates knowledge of the use, care, and maintenance of instruments and equipment. Under the supervision of the circulating RN, assists on procedures as a secondary circulator. Reports unexpected events and outcomes to RN staff/leadership in a timely fashion, e.g., count, specimen, and breaks in aseptic techniques within the surgical field. Provides on‑call coverage (where applicable) proficiently. Care of Specimens In collaboration with the registered nurse, ensures specimens are appropriately identified and labeled. Regulatory, Quality & Performance Improvement, Safety Supports the mission, philosophy, standards, goals, and objectives of the institution, department, and service line. Contributes toward quality and performance improvement programs and unit/service‑specific metrics, data collection, and projects, e.g., turnover times, on‑time starts, time‑out, patient satisfaction, instrument handling, waste, sustainability, ACA/RCA, committee participation. Participates in programs and activities to promote satisfaction of patients, families, staff, and other disciplines. Incorporates new practices identified in patient‑care standards into the plan of care. Responds to changes in patient care and standards for patient‑care activities; demonstrates awareness of JCAHO, DOH, and CARF, AST standards. Communication Interacts respectfully and positively. Collaborates with members of the interdisciplinary team and promotes collegial relationships. Gives a thorough report to the RN circulator, relief scrub person, and leadership concerning counts, equipment, instrumentation, or outcomes. Demonstrates professional responsibilities and accountabilities as a team member. Development Accepts responsibilities and demonstrates accountability for own actions. Utilizes resources to meet individual learning needs, e.g., standards, procedure preferences. Seizes opportunities for learning experiences for self or to be shared with others. Guides staff and students to use clinical resources to enhance knowledge. Participates in the orientation of new and current staff to the scrub role intraoperatively. Active participant in the clinical preceptor program. Participates in providing feedback as requested. Engages in self‑assessment and participates in activities to promote personal professional growth and development, takes initiative to seek out new clinical experiences, and communicates with leadership. Fulfills annual mandatory education program requirements, obtains/maintains certification, and is a member of relevant organizations. Accepts constructive criticism and seeks ways for positive behavioral change. Performs duties as assigned. Financial Recognizes the importance of cost effectiveness in the delivery of patient care. Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required (American Heart Association)
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program through NBSTSA
• Certification required upon hire

Required Licenses

• Cert Surgical Technologist
• Basic Life Support Cert

Preferred Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist in a large, complex operating room
• NYU Surgical Tech Program graduate

The salary range for this role is $88,483.50–$115,618.44 annually. Actual salaries depend on experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
