Jr. Systems AdministratorWork Location: Washington, DCWork Arrangement: OnsiteClearance: Must have an active Secret clearanceThe Jr. Systems Administrator supports the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the organization's IT infrastructure, including servers, user accounts, endpoints, and core systems. This role focuses on providing hands-on technical support, assisting with system administration tasks, monitoring system performance, and escalating complex issues as needed. The Jr. Systems Administrator will work closely with senior IT staff and other departments to help maintain secure, reliable, and efficient technology services.ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:Assist with administering, configuring, and supporting Windows Server infrastructure and core services such as Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, Group Policy, and file/print services under the guidance of senior IT staffMonitor system health, logs, and alerts; respond to routine incidents and service requests; document issues and escalate more complex problems when necessarySupport backup and restore operations by monitoring jobs, assisting with recovery tasks, and helping maintain current operational documentation and runbooksPerform user account management, access provisioning, and basic system maintenance activities, including patching, updates, and routine checksProvide desktop and endpoint support for Windows 10/11 systems, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity issuesAssist with IT projects, system deployments, asset tracking, and knowledge base updates to improve operational efficiency and end-user supportAdminister the SharePoint Knowledgebase site, including creating folders and managing permission groupsMust be able to support monthly maintenance activities and on-call rotation for critical outagesQualificationsBachelor's degree in IT or a related field, or equivalent experience, plus 2 years of relevant work experience.Active Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain one.Foundational experience supporting Windows Server environments and core services such as Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, Group Policy, and file/print servicesExperience supporting Windows Server and Windows 10/11 systems, including troubleshooting, break/fix support, and endpoint configurationFamiliarity with backup and restore processes, patching, system monitoring, and routine maintenance activitiesExposure to virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere/ESXi and vCenter is preferredBasic knowledge of PowerShell scripting, SharePoint administration, and SQL concepts is a plusStrong customer service, written communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to document work clearly and collaborate effectively across teamsPreferred certifications and training (or similar equivalents):CompTIA A+CompTIA Network+CompTIA Security+Microsoft 365 Certified: FundamentalsMicrosoft Certified: Azure FundamentalsMicrosoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator AssociateITIL FoundationsFormal SharePoint certifications or demonstrated experienceBenefits:Competitive salary - $70,000.00 - $75,000.00Paid Time Off & Holiday PayMedical InsuranceDental InsuranceVision InsuranceDisability, Life Insurance, and AD&DFlexible Spending AccountsPre-Tax 401K and/or After-Tax Roth IRA (with employer matching contribution)Tuition and Technical Training ReimbursementExercise ReimbursementEmployee Assistance ProgramCollaborative and dynamic work environmentPhysical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
