Registered Dietitian

Position Registered Dietitian Facility Union Plaza Care Center Location Queens, NY Shift Full-Time | 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM Salary $40–$45 per hour Union Plaza Care Center is seeking a knowledgeable and compassionate Registered Dietitian to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting resident health and wellness by ensuring high-quality nutritional care and compliance with all regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities Assess residents’ dietary needs, preferences, and nutritional risks Develop, review, and implement individualized dietary care plans using the Resident Assessment Instrument (MDS) Coordinate food service activities with nursing, environmental services, social services, and activities departments Ensure menus and therapeutic diets align with physician orders and regulatory requirements Supervise dietary staff to maintain quality, safety, and efficiency Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and dietary records Participate in state and federal surveys and implement corrective actions as needed Provide nutritional education to residents and families Ensure appropriate substitute meals of equal nutritional value are provided when needed Maintain HIPAA compliance and uphold residents’ rights at all times Attend facility meetings and interdisciplinary committees Qualifications Current, active, and unencumbered Registered Dietitian license in New York Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or related field from an accredited institution Minimum 2 years of experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) preferred Strong knowledge of: Diet therapy Food service management Cost control and budgeting Nutrition best practices Experience with Sigma Care and Geri Menu systems preferred Ability to interpret food service cost reports and financial data Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, and teamwork skills Requirements Prior nursing home / SNF experience or acute care required Experience with therapeutic diet planning and food management Strong analytical skills related to cost control and operations Benefits Comprehensive Medical & Dental Coverage Generous Paid Time Off (PTO) 401(k) Retirement Plan Employee Recognition Program Supportive, team-oriented work environment Company perks and employee discounts Join Union Plaza Care Center and make a meaningful impact in the lives of our residents through quality nutritional care.
