Bereavement Volunteer
Providence Care of Georgia
- Adhere at all times to Montgomery Hospice & Prince George’s Hospice Volunteer Policies and Procedures.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all medical and personal information about hospice patients and families that you may have access to during the execution of your assignment.
- Maintain contact with the bereaved through telephone calls for twelve months. Be present as a caring listener for bereaved family members and friends.
- Notify the Bereavement Coordinator if a situation arises that needs immediate attention or causes concern.
- Submit written reports following each contact with the bereaved.
- Attend Bereavement Care team meetings as scheduled.
- At the end of each week of activity, submit a Volunteer Timesheet to the Volunteer Services Office.
- Advise the Volunteer Services Office of any change in your volunteer status and/or availability, or of any change in contact information.
- Attend at least one in-service educational session annually. Providence Care of Georgia
