The Radiology Angiographer provides quality patient care when performing diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention for procedures while adhering to radiation safety principles.

Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies, part of the Orlando Health Women's Institute, provides specialized care that covers all facets of women's health, from comprehensive gynecological services and minimally invasive surgeries to general obstetrics and high-risk pregnancies and births.

Responsibilities Essential Functions:

• Demonstrates professional judgment in service delivery and maintains a demeanor complimentary to quality care.
• Delivers appropriate care, recognizes patient conditions, and ensures successful completion of procedures and guidelines.
• Assists the physician in producing diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention.
• Assists the physician in all procedures as necessary.
• Ensures that the patient's education of procedure performed, needs, safety and comfort are met while in their care.
• Complies with all state and federal regulations applicable to each modality.
• Adheres to Orlando Health's mission statement and strategic imperatives.
• Assesses the patient's physical condition and age-specific needs.
• Provides instructions to achieve patient cooperation and desired results.
• Performs proper patient identification, acquires patient's clinical history, and ensures accurate documentation and communication to the appropriate team members.
• Positions patient, equipment, and associated devices. Manipulates technical factors to achieve high-quality images for interpretation.
• Applies principles of radiation safety to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others.
• Comprehends and complies with Quality Control standards and participates in all Quality Control tasks.
• Demonstrates proficiency in contrast medication administration with and without use of power injectors.
• Applies sterile techniques and appropriate standard precautions in utilizing Personal Protective equipment (PPE) to prevent cross-contamination in accordance with OH policy and training procedures.
• Administers medical aid as required in cases of adverse reactions to contrast medication and/or other emergencies.
• Assists in the supervision of student technologists and the training of new technologists.
• Utilizes all Corporate Radiology computer systems effectively and accurately.
• Demonstrates proficiency in supply usage, charging, and documentation.
• Ensures the safety of all customers.
• Demonstrates knowledge regarding location, use, and troubleshooting of complex technical equipment and instruments. Acts as a resource for its operation and training.
• Maintains the use of customer service skills in communication with all Orlando Health staff, visitors, and co-workers.
• Maintains adequate inventory levels of supplies, equipment, resources, tools, and forms.
• Performs as a mentor/preceptor for new staff while maintaining high standards of patient care, documentation, and professionalism.
• Understands the application and technical aspects of all equipment and supplies used in all procedures.
• Ensures that case turnover time is within established department standards by maintaining proper workflow and prioritizing optimal patient care.

Qualifications:

• Education/Training: Graduate of accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
• Licensure/Certification: Valid Certified Radiologic Technologist licensure by the State of Florida; and Valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification; and Required to maintain BLS/Healthcare provider certification.
