Production Supervisor - Weekend ShiftWell established and a leading international company has newly created opportunity in the beautiful upstate of SC for a Production Supervisor - weekend shift at their manufacturing and distribution facility of around 700 people which is commute distance to the west of the Greenville metropolitan area. The manufacturing environment includes automation and the assembly process. The weekend shift which works 7am – 5pm on Friday thru Monday (4 10s) and receives $3.25 for hours worked on Saturday and Sunday.Job Summary:The Supervisor supervises, coordinates and assists all assigned direct reports with making all production requirements set forth by the organization.Job Duties and Responsibilities:Promote a safe workplace by performing all tasks in a safe and thoughtful manner in compliance with all rules, procedures, instructions, devices, equipment and use of appropriate personal protective equipment. Maintain vigilance for any hazardous conditions or practices in the workplace and immediately report any unsafe condition or practice to your supervisor.Provides supervision and technical leadership, training, coaching, and feedback to all direct reportsResponsible for daily scheduling, planning, and time and attendanceReviews all work orders to ensure work is performed per specificationsResponsible for tracking progress of required work ordersEnsures production requirements are met every shift by keeping accurate logs of inventory, machinery, and employeesHandles employee issues as they arise and notify chain of command of any required immediate actions or adviceResponsible for operating machinery and may perform minor repairs as neededWorks with Production Technicians, Maintenance, and Manufacturing Engineering to reduce and/or eliminate machine down timeRecommends and participates in continuous improvement ideasResponsible for making sure the area is clean and safe by maintaining and promoting the Company's 5S programDocuments actions by completing production logs and quality check sheetsWorks closely with the Maintenance, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Planning, and Human Resources DepartmentsPerforms other duties as directedCompetencies and Skills:Directs, manages, trains, collaborates, and delegates appropriately while working as a teamOutstanding attention to detail and accuracyStrong technical and problem solving skillsExcellent oral and written communication skillsStrong hand and eye coordination in a fast pace environmentPrioritize and complete a variety of tasks in a timely mannerCreates an atmosphere in which timely and high quality communication flows smoothlyWell-versed in planning machining by analyzing work orders, blueprints, materials, specifications, and drawingsWorking knowledge in mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and precision measuring proceduresVersed in human resource management in regards to interviewing, training, developing, and career managementSolid understanding of mathematics and the ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometryAbility to apply understanding of machine systems to maintain and identify continuous improvement possibilitiesAbility to troubleshoot machine problems and determine resolutionsWorking knowledge of Computer Numerical Controls and drivesProficient in Microsoft OfficeSupervisory Responsibilities:Manages (20 - 40) subordinatesTrains and develops employeesInterviews employeesPerforms performance and merit reviewsAdministers disciplinary action as necessary and in accordance with company policies and proceduresWork Environment and Physical Demands:The physical environment requires the employee to work in a climate controlled environmentRequired to use personal protective equipment while on the jobAbility to be punctual and attend work on a regular and consistent basisThe person in this position needs to wear appropriate safety clothing and shoes when needed.
