Business Development Specialist

Business Development – Architectural & Interior Solutions Position Summary This role is focused on driving new business development within the architectural, design, and construction ecosystem. The ideal candidate is a relationship-driven, strategic seller who excels at engaging architects, interior designers, and general contractors to position the organization as a preferred partner for architectural and interior workspace solutions. A strong understanding of the design development and construction lifecycle is essential. Key Responsibilities Identify, prospect, and engage new business opportunities with architects, interior designers, and general contractors Drive new client acquisition by building and managing a pipeline of large-scale, high-value projects Develop and execute strategic growth plans to expand market share and industry presence Leverage creative and entrepreneurial approaches to generate and convert new business opportunities Serve as a trusted advisor on design development and construction processes Collaborate with internal teams to deliver integrated workplace and interior solutions Clearly articulate product, service, and solution value to clients and stakeholders Represent the organization at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions Build and maintain strategic partnerships with manufacturers, developers, and construction firms to generate collaborative opportunitiesStay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and market innovations Required Skills & Qualifications Proven experience in business development, architectural sales, or new client acquisition Strong understanding of design development, construction workflows, and architectural/interior product solutions Demonstrated success in pipeline development and closing complex, consultative deals Excellent presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong focus on growth and opportunity creation Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year institution preferred, or Minimum of 10 years of experience in architecture, interior design, construction, or a related field Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to present effectively to clients, groups, and internal teams Basic proficiency in mathematical concepts including percentages, discounts, and proportions Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret varied instructions and data formats Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn CRM, HRIS, billing, and related systems Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, multitask, and manage shifting deadline Ascendo is a certified minority owned staffing firm, and we welcome and celebrate diversity.
