Chase Travel - CxLoyalty Account Payable Team Lead

As an Accounts Payable Team Lead in the Chase Travel Accounts Payable team , you guide day-to-day payables operations to ensure obligations are processed accurately, reconciled effectively, and handled within established controls and timelines. You will serve as the primary escalation point for exceptions while supporting a culture that values accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. You’ll help us strengthen operational efficiency and service levels by improving processes, documentation, and team capability. In this office-based role, you may occasionally adjust hours to support deadlines or urgent issues.

Job responsibilities

• Guide daily accounts payable activities supporting suppliers, vendors, commissions, and virtual card payment programs
• Oversee reconciliations across supplier activity, vendor statements, commissions, credit card transactions, and other accounts payable balances
• Research and resolve payment discrepancies, including short payments, overpayments, credits, and unmatched transactions
• Monitor aged accounts payable balances and guide timely resolution of outstanding items
• Complete monthly reconciliations within established accounting deadlines
• Maintain effective financial and operational controls across accounts payable processes
• Perform quality reviews of reconciliation work and team activity to support accuracy and consistency
• Maintain documented standard operating procedures, control evidence, and audit support materials
• Escalate material variances and aged items according to established thresholds
• Allocate daily workload based on volume, priority, aging, and complexity to maintain coverage for critical processes
• Coach and develop associates through training, feedback, and cross-training to improve productivity and quality

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
• 3 years of supervisory experience in accounts payable operations or a related finance role
• Knowledge of accounts payable processes, including invoicing, reconciliations, and supplier payment issue resolution
• Experience managing aged items and reconciling high-volume payables activity to deadlines
• Ability to apply financial and operational controls and maintain audit-ready documentation
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to engage internal partners and external suppliers
• Analytical skills to interpret financial data, identify trends, and support data-informed decisions
• Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
