Job Summary:
The Technical Writer in Columbus, OH is responsible for drafting, researching, and updating administrative technology policies for the Department of Technology. This role involves collaboration with leadership and legal teams to ensure policies are accurate and comprehensive, as well as preparing presentations and supporting workgroup meetings.

Responsibilities:
- Draft administrative technology policies for the Department of Technology.
- Research policies and procedures from similar organizations such as states, counties, local governments, and universities to develop a framework for City of Columbus IT policies.
- Collaborate with Department of Technology leadership, senior staff, and legal teams to review and update drafted policies.
- Prepare PowerPoint presentations and assist in facilitating workgroup meetings.
- Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
- Experience in drafting and reviewing technology policies.
- Ability to conduct thorough research and analyze policy frameworks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and other presentation tools.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Familiarity with IT governance and compliance standards.
- Experience working with government or public sector organizations.
- Legal or regulatory knowledge related to technology policies.
- Must work onsite in Columbus, OH.
- Collaboration with multiple stakeholders including leadership and legal departments.
- Regular day shift from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST.
- Contract duration of 5+ months with possibility of extension.
