6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
Approximately:
- 17 shifts available in August
- 14 shifts available in September
- Additional ongoing coverage anticipated
Practice within a busy regional referral hospital supporting a broad inpatient population with extensive physician specialty resources available around the clock. Night coverage is provided through a collaborative model consisting of:
- Two Hospitalist Physicians
- One Advanced Practice Provider
Typical responsibilities include:
- Cross-coverage of hospitalized adult patients
- Evaluation of acute clinical changes
- New inpatient admissions
- Coordination with consulting physicians
- Stabilization and escalation of care when appropriate
- Communication with multidisciplinary care teams
- Documentation within Epic
- Approximately 160–200 patients covered overnight
- Average 18–20 admissions each night
- Approximately 2.5 patients per hour
- Day census per provider averages 18–20 patients
