Program Supervisor
Under the supervision of the Program Director, the Program Supervisor provides supervision and support to direct service staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality, family-centered home visiting services in accordance with Healthy Families America standards, program policies and organizational goals. Program Supervisors partner with home visitors to help them support families, and assist in providing family-centered, strength-based interventions for parents. Services will be kept within the agency and program specific goals, objectives, mission, and style provided within a team framework.
Duties:
- Conduct weekly administrative, clinical, and reflective supervision with Home Visitors to support professional development and strengthen service delivery. Supervise up to six Home Visitors to ensure adherence to program standards.
- Ensure Home Visitors adhere to Healthy Families America (HFA) model and maintain fidelity to designated program curriculum, standards, and service delivery practices.
- Collaborate with County-wide Coordinator and Evaluator to support HFA site accreditation in the South Region, including preparation for the HFA re-accreditation process.
- Adhere to HFA supervisor standards and guidelines, including maintaining required client and Home Visitor specific documentation and supporting client-level case plan development.
- Complete data entry and other required documentation in a timely manner and oversee home visitors' documentation and data entry for accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to HFA standards and guidelines.
- Implement quality assurance activities in accordance with the program's Quality Assurance (QA) Plan to monitor service quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.
- Train and orient new staff to program policies, procedures, service delivery practices, and HFA standards.
- Support staff development and conduct performance evaluations in collaboration with the Program Director. Responsible for staff development and evaluations in conjunction with the Program Director.
- Support with home visits as needed for staff shadowing, coaching and service continuity during periods of staff unavailability.
- Participate in the planning, implementation, and oversight of First 5 program evaluation activities, including accurate and timely data entry, monitoring, and reporting through CMEDS and other applicable data systems.
- Assign cases and monitor caseloads to ensure balanced workloads and compliance with HFA guidelines and program requirements.
- Collaborate with Program Director to monitor and ensure the quality, consistency, and effectiveness of program services.
- Support implementation of Family First Prevention Services Act (FFPSA) requirements and collaborate with the Prevention Hub to ensure activities and services align with applicable requirements and objectives with Prevention Hub.
- Assist with planning and implementing monthly parent groups and graduation activities to promote engagement and recognition of family accomplishments.
- Participate in on-going training and assist in identifying staff training needs.
- Participate in required county-wide Program supervisor meetings with funder and county-wide coordinator- AAP.
- Adhere to agency and First 5 standards of client confidentiality, HIPAA, and mandated reporting policies.
- Attend all agency required meetings and trainings.
- Other duties assigned.
Requirements:
- Must have a bachelor's degree in child development, health, social services or a closely related field OR a minimum of one year of experience in HFA implementation. Master's degree preferred.
- Experience and knowledge in implementing evidence-based models and maintaining fidelity to established program standards. Including the HFA model, preferred.
- Prior supervisory experience preferred, preferably in a family-support, home visiting, social services, or related setting.
- Experience with family services that embraces concepts of family-centered and strength-based service provision.
- Bilingual (English/ Spanish), preferred.
- Experience working with families who have children ages 0-5 years, with a strong background in early childhood prevention and family support services.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience directly providing in-home parenting education and support services, required
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with diverse individuals, families, community partners, and professional organizations.
- Ability to teach and model effective problem-solving skills, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to establish goals, prioritize responsibilities, manage multiple tasks, and maintain a high level of organization.
- Must possess good working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, including Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams to develop, update, maintain and manage spreadsheets and data reports.
- Experience supporting culturally diverse families, possess cultural sensitivity, and maintain appropriate boundaries with clients.
- Knowledge of infant and child development, and parent-child attachment.
- Solid understanding of or experience in supervising diverse staff with humility, as well as providing support to staff in stressful work environments.
- Knowledge of parent-infant health and the dynamics, risk factors, and prevention of child abuse and neglect.
- Willingness to engage in building reflective practice. Experience with reflective practice preferred.
- Infant Mental Health Endorsement preferred.
Conditions of Employment:
- Employment may be conditioned upon satisfactory completion of certain background clearances which may include a Department of Justice criminal background check requiring my fingerprints (Live Scan), screening through the National Sex Offender Public Website, drug test, tuberculosis (TB) test, and such additional clearances as may be required under the program.
- Candidate is required to have reliable transportation; therefore, the candidate must successfully complete a motor history check. Candidate must also possess and maintain a current valid California driver's license and valid auto insurance policy.
Physical demands:
- Mentally and emotionally: Ability to work under deadlines, various projects and dealing with clients in crisis and difficult situations.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position during shift.
- Moves throughout the building.
- Moves, raises, or lowers (includes upward pulling) an object or equipment up to 50 lbs.
- Transports an object, from 20 to 50 lbs. across the facility, for various needs.
- Ability to exert force upon an object so that the object moves away from the force.
- Ability to exert force upon an object so that the object moves toward the force (includes jerking)
- Ascending or descending stairs and ladders when applicable. Body agility is emphasized.
- Balancing: Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when ascending, descending, traversing.
- Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist, requiring full use of the lower extremities and back muscles.
- Handling: Seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with objects or office machinery.
- Communicating: Expressing or exchanging ideas. Communicating is important for those activities in which workers must impart information to clients or to the public, and in those activities in which they must convey detailed or important instructions to other workers accurately, or quickly.
