Job Description The hospital-based Wound Ostomy Nurse serves as a clinical resource and consultant for patients with selected disorders of the gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and integumentary systems such as acute and chronic wounds (e.g., complex draining wounds, fistulae, pressure ulcers, vascular ulcers) ostomies, percutaneous tubes, and moisture-related skin injuries. Professional responsibilities are carried out through direct patient care, clinical consultation, education, research, and administration. The Wound Ostomy Nurse provides inpatient clinical services throughout the hospital, including the Emergency Department and Wound/Ostomy Care Clinic.

Posted are the minimum and the maximum wage rates on the wage range for this position. The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.

- Upon hire: Texas Registered Nurse License
- Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
- 2 years of Acute care experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited school. Or equivalent educ/experience
- Upon hire: Certification from Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing Certification Board (WOCNCB)
