Senior Accountant

Location : Hampshire, IL 60140
Salary : $70,000–$90,000
Hours: Monday – Friday | Standard Business Hours
Hire Type : Direct Hire

Sterling Engineering is partnering with a manufacturing company in the Hampshire area to hire a Senior Accountant to support month-end close activities, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and overall accounting operations.

Key Responsibilities :

• Prepare month-end journal entries and support month/year-end close processes
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies
• Assist with financial statement preparation and reporting activities
• Partner with FP&A, management, and other departments to improve financial processes
• Support invoicing, AP activities, and additional accounting functions as needed
• Utilize ERP systems and reporting tools to analyze financial data and generate reports
• Create and maintain Excel spreadsheets including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and data analysis
• Ensure compliance with GAAP standards and internal accounting procedures
• Support special projects and continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications :

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
• 4+ years of accounting experience within a manufacturing environment required
• Strong understanding of month-end close and financial reporting processes
• Experience working with ERP systems and accounting software
• Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
