Position Overview

Our organization is looking for candidates to fill an Assistant Professor role on the tenure track within the Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care in the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine. Applicants should possess an M.D. or Ph.D. degree. Ideal candidates will be board certified or eligible in Pulmonary Medicine and/or Critical Care Medicine.

Key Responsibilities

• Teaching: Engage in educational activities within the health system and/or VA system, mentor trainees, and actively participate in Penn graduate programs aligned with the candidate's research interests.
• Clinical Duties: Provide patient care in outpatient clinics and/or serve as an attending physician on the inpatient service.
• Research: Develop a pioneering, independent research program aimed at securing and sustaining external funding from diverse sources.

Qualifications

Successful candidates will have a proven record of accomplishment in lung biology research. We particularly encourage applications from those with research interests in pulmonary vascular biology or airway biology.
