Job Description As a Security Officer Unarmed Patrol in Charlottesville, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a utilities location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for employees and visitors. Position Type: Full Time Pay Rate: $18.27 / Hour Job Schedule: Thur 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM Fri 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM Sat 07:00 PM - 07:00 AM Sun 07:00 PM - 07:00 AM What You’ll Do Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors at a utility-related location while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate. Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of facility buildings, grounds, access points, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual conditions and support site operations. Monitor access to designated areas, verify visitor and contractor authorization in accordance with site procedures, and maintain accurate activity records. Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns to appropriate site contacts and/or emergency services when required. Report observed hazards, damaged equipment, suspicious activity, and other security-related concerns according to established procedures. Minimum Requirements Customer service experience is preferred. Possession of a guard card or license is preferred. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
