Registered Nurse - Ambulatory Care/Clinic/Outpatient

Job Description

Job Summary:

Provides comprehensive outpatient nursing care to patients and families in an ambulatory clinic setting, utilizing clinical judgment, teamwork, and effective communication to optimize patient outcomes. Leads interdisciplinary discussions and ensures adherence to all applicable regulations and standards for safe and quality care delivery.

Responsibilities:

• Manage patient and family care plans to meet defined health objectives through assessment, intervention, and evaluation.
• Coordinate care activities among healthcare team members to ensure seamless service delivery and promote a positive work environment.
• Deliver evidence-based, collaborative nursing care that aligns with national, facility, and community standards.
• Educate patients and families using population-specific teaching principles to support health literacy and engagement.
• Maintain compliance with all licensing, certification, and regulatory requirements, including BLS and California RN licensure.
• Document care accurately and efficiently in the electronic medical record system using Epic or equivalent platforms.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with active California RN license.
• Current BLS certification from AHA or American Red Cross.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent relevant outpatient nursing experience, including 1 year in pediatrics or trauma care.
• Demonstrated knowledge of basic nursing skills, population-specific education, and trauma assessment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple demands in a fast-paced outpatient environment.
