Project Manager / Estimator, Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings

Location: Greensboro /Winston-Salem Metro, NC (in-office preferred; hybrid flexibility for the right candidate)

Compensation: $90K to $120+K base, plus profit-sharing bonus, company truck, and full benefits

Our client is a well-established pre-engineered metal building erector based in the Piedmont Triad region of North Carolina. Owner-operated since 2016, the company has built a strong reputation for quality execution, early design-build collaboration, and trusted partnerships with leading general contractors and manufacturers. They specialize exclusively in PEMB erection and furnish-and-erect projects, with no GC work or structural steel distractions, which has allowed them to become a go-to specialist in their market.

The Opportunity

Our client is hiring a Project Manager / Estimator to take ownership of projects from pre-construction through closeout. This is an office-based role managing jobs remotely while superintendents and foremen run the field. As the company continues to grow, this hire is positioned for long-term advancement into a VP of Operations role.

What You'll Do

• Manage projects end-to-end: pre-construction, estimating, project management, and closeout
• Coordinate directly with general contractors, manufacturers (engineering and detailing), and field crews
• Handle logistics, deliveries, change orders, missing materials, and project documentation
• Get involved early in the design-build process to influence design for ease of manufacturing and erection
• Serve as a client-facing point of contact when needed, meeting with GCs and end customers (commercial, institutional, etc.)
• Help customers correctly spec and order buildings to optimize project outcomes
• Work alongside ownership and contribute to the long-term growth of the business

What Our Client Is Looking For

Ideal background:

• Direct pre-engineered metal building experience: project coordinator, customer service, inside or outside sales, or detailing background at a PEMB manufacturer
• Strong understanding of how PEMB projects flow from order through erection

Also strong candidates:

• Construction Management degree with general construction experience
• GC project coordinators, small subcontractor owner-operators, or estimators looking to specialize
• Willingness to learn the pre-engineered side; our client will train

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary: $90,000 to $120,000+ (commensurate with experience)
