Senior Combustion Controls Technician — Industrial Boilers

What you’ll do

• Wire controls and motors for watertube and firetube boilers and their auxiliary systems.
• Build and test control panels using engineering layouts and wiring schematics.
• Assemble and validate fuel skids; build/test condensate tanks and deaerators.
• Trim out both firetube and watertube units for final readiness.
• Start up rental boilers in the field and set safe, efficient combustion.
• Rebuild control valves and regulators; specify correct trims, springs, and oil gun lengths and sizes.
• Interpret blueprints and schematics; troubleshoot with or without full documentation.
• Set combustion on boilers with pneumatic and electrical controls, including systems with superheaters, desuperheaters, and economizers.
• Maintain tools, monitors, and inventory; collaborate across departments to meet cost and schedule targets.

Signing bonus

• 1–5 years’ relevant boiler experience: $2,500 total ( $1,500 at hire; $1,000 after 90 days )
• 5+ years’ relevant boiler experience: $5,000 total ( $3,000 at hire; $2,000 after 90 days )

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum two (2) years of electrical troubleshooting/technical background.
• Valid driver’s license with a strong safety record.
• Comfort reading blueprints/wiring diagrams and following written/verbal instructions.
• Solid mechanical and electrical foundation; able to troubleshoot without the exact schematic.

Physical requirements and environment

• Stooping, climbing, bending, crawling; lift up to 50 lbs; prolonged standing.
• Work in confined and elevated areas.
• Primarily plant settings; safety orientation and precautions required; occasional brief unpleasant conditions; minimal hazardous exposure.
