SOUS CHEF (FULL TIME)

Overview We are hiring immediately for a full time Sous Chef position. Location: Genentech - 475 East Grand Avenue, South San Francisco, CA 94080 Schedule: Full time; Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 2:30 pm. More details upon interview. Pay Range: $27.00 per hour to $29.00 per hour. Responsibilities Helps Executive Chef prepare and cook foods following approved recipes and production standards; ensures deadlines are met based on production orders. Supervises hourly food service associates, including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, and participating in reviews; recommends disciplinary action as appropriate. Stores food in designated areas following all corporate, state and federal food safety and sanitation procedures. Ensures proper food handling, presentation, portion control and maintenance of appropriate serving temperatures. Maintains sanitation of equipment, supplies and utensils; keeps workstation clean and meets sanitation, safety, production and merchandising requirements during service. Interacts with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner; relays relevant information to the supervisor. Demonstrates understanding of daily menu items and can explain them to associates and customers. Keeps up with peak production and service hours. Monitors inventory and deliveries; tracks product production, consumption and waste; informs supervisor when supplies are low. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Prior culinary experience is preferred.
