Senior Field Service Technician

Responsibilities Performs expert level break‑fix and preventative maintenance, including observing devices in operation to locate root cause of problems, dismantling devices, removing defective parts, examining parts for imperfections, adjusting functional parts, repairing or replacing defective parts, testing devices, and performing tests for electrical circuitry and mechanical systems. Identifies and sources parts, supplies and repair items, evaluating alternatives to improve cost and/or reliability of equipment. Independently performs maintenance as per industry standards. Works with customer counterparts to optimize maintenance, reliability, and preventative maintenance procedures. May set up and operate multiple machining operations (lathe, drill press, grinder, other metalworking tools) to make and repair parts, and may perform welding tasks. Conforms and complies with customer contractor codes of conduct, housekeeping standards, and safety processes. Documents work performed in service reports, applicable management systems, and written explanations regarding observations and collected equipment performance data. Provides assistance to lower‑level technicians and leadership to project teams, performing expert functions as part of training and development. Troubleshoots and analyzes complex control systems to resolve in‑depth software/hardware and configuration problems. Utilizes advanced maintenance technologies to collect equipment performance data, observes trends, and makes recommendations. Completes and conducts on‑the‑job training and technical self‑study programs for career development. Follows all safety‑related policies, rules, regulations, technical instructions and guidelines; maintains situational awareness and identifies unsafe behaviors and conditions. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Essential KSAs High School Graduate or equivalent (GED). Associate’s degree with a technical focus and 10 years of related experience in a specific industry, or 12 years of experience in a specific industry. Comprehensive understanding of electrical, mechanical, fluid power and control systems; ability to analyze problems, synthesize alternative solutions, and perform repairs. Proficiency with basic hand tools and specialized tools. Daily travel required. Desirable KSAs Experience in condition‑based maintenance techniques, precision mechanical alignments, and maintenance of applicable process equipment. Experience in programmable logic controllers, field device troubleshooting, and maintenance of electrical drive and motor systems. Competencies Communications Customer Focus Personal Discipline Safety Physical Demands and Working Conditions Regular standing, walking, hand use, reaching, climbing or balancing to heights that may require a ladder or lift; stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling in confined spaces; speaking and hearing. Occasional sitting and lifting/moving more than 50 pounds. Requires close and color vision. Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, electrical shock risk, loud factory environment, hazardous materials, greasy or slippery floors. Benefits & Compensation Pay Range: $42.65—$54.56 USD per hour.
