Pay Rate: $22.00 - $26.00 / hour (Depending on market experience) Job Type: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities:
- Lay out, position, align, and fit together fabricated structural steel components and multi-component assemblies according to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Read and accurately interpret complex industrial blueprints, weld symbols, and technical work orders to plan the sequence of assembly.
- Securely tack-weld, clamp, grind, or bolt components together to maintain perfect configurations and alignments before final welding.
- Utilize overhead cranes, hoists, forklifts, and rigging equipment to safely move, flip, and manipulate large, heavy steel structures throughout the shop.
- Conduct precise quality control measurements using templates, straightedges, and fillet gauges to ensure all fit-ups strictly conform to design tolerances.
- Examine workpieces for defects, straightness, and alignment issues, making necessary corrections and grinding adjustments as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace and strictly adhere to all company safety guidelines, OSHA regulations, and proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) standards.
Qualifications & Special Requirements:
- This is a mid-level position, so we are seeking candidates who bring 2 to 5 years of stable structural fitting or heavy metal fabrication experience.
- Proficient in blueprint reading, geometric layouts, and structural welding/fabrication concepts.
- Experience with tack welding (Flux-Core/FCAW or Metal-Core) and the safe operation of material handling equipment like jib/overhead cranes and forklifts.
- Strong shop math skills, including the ability to calculate angles, dimensions, and structural allowances accurately.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in welding and fabrication is highly preferred.
- Exceptional eye for detail, a commitment to high-quality craftsmanship, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented shop environment.
