Real Estate AccountantSalary Range $83,600.00 - $90,700.00 Salary Position Type Full Time Category AccountingDescriptionSyufy Enterprises is a fast-growing, financially strong Marin-based entertainment and leisure company that owns a variety of businesses, including high-end athletic clubs and spas, restaurants, golf venues, shopping centers, public markets and drive-in theaters. Over the next several years, the company will be rapidly expanding all its brands and looking to invest in new brands.POSITION SUMMARYThe Real Estate Accountant reports to the Senior Real Estate Accountant and supports AR/AP, month- and year-end close, financial reporting and budgeting, and property onboarding.RESPONSIBILITIESPerform monthly, quarterly, year-end close processes, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analysis, and financial reportingManage day-to-day accounting activities for assigned properties, including banking, payables and receivables, and ensuring accurate financial recordsReview financial data for accuracy and prepare timely financial reports for internal and external stakeholdersParticipate in the preparation of the annual budgetsSupport property transitions, including new acquisitions, developments, and system setupsAssist with processing property-level expenses such as property taxes and insuranceDevelop and maintain process documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)Contribute to and manage process improvements and assigned ad hoc projects as neededQUALIFICATIONSB.S. in Accounting or Business AdministrationMinimum of 3 years accounting experience preferablyExperience with Yardi or comparable real estate accounting software is a plusSolid understanding of the full accounting cycle - GL, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-/year-end closeExcellent organizational skills with attention to detailStrong oral and written communication skillsStrong working knowledge of ExcelAble to work independently and with minimum direction once the task and objectives have been definedAble to meet internal and external deadlinesPHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:Occasional bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 10 lbsFrequent sitting and occasional standing, walking, reachingNoise level may be moderate to high at timesCOMPENSATION & BENEFITS:$83,600 - $90,700 based on relevant experience to the role.Annual incentive bonus eligibility.PTO.Full benefits package.401K (up to 4% match).
