Registered Nurse – Med/Surg (Travel) Location: Rochester, NY. Start Date: 08/03/2026 for a 13‑week assignment. Shift: 12‑hour shifts with a rotating D/E/N schedule. Weekly Pay: $2,047.00 – $2,233.00. Unit Focus Orthopedic trauma, spinal surgery, and elective orthopedic diagnoses. The unit emphasizes education and ongoing professional development. Key Highlights Start date: 08/03/2026 Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour shifts (D/E/N rotating) Weekly pay: $2,047.00 – $2,233.00 Unit focus: Orthopedic trauma, spine surgery and other elective orthopedics Schedule requirements: weekends/holidays and on-call/callback as needed Setting: Hospital-based Med/Surg unit with opportunities for education and growth Experience emphasis: Orthopedic RN experience and telemetry proficiency Responsibilities Provide direct bedside nursing care to adult Med/Surg patients, with emphasis on orthopedic trauma and spine surgery cases Monitor and interpret telemetry data, respond to arrhythmias, and coordinate with the care team on treatment plans Administer medications and manage IV therapies, pain control, wound care, and postoperative care per physician orders Assist with perioperative care, pre/postoperative assessments, and early mobilization plans Collaborate with physical therapy, case management, and ancillary staff to coordinate discharge planning and ensure safe transitions Document accurately in the electronic medical record, including assessments, interventions, and patient education Demonstrate effective communication, problem-solving, and teamwork in a fast‑paced, trauma-informed environment Be flexible with staffing needs, including potential on-call or float duties to other units as required Requirements Licensure: Current New York RN license Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association) required; ACLS (American Heart Association) required Experience: Minimum 2 years of RN experience; orthopedic experience required Specialty experience: Orthopedic trauma and spine surgery experience strongly preferred Unit competency: Telemetry experience required Other: Ability to function effectively in a rotating D/E/N schedule and in a high‑acuity, fast‑paced environment; strong organizational, problem‑solving, and communication skills; ability to work as part of a team Education: RN degree from an accredited nursing program Benefits and Support 24/7 recruiter and travel support Dedicated support throughout the assignment Nationwide travel opportunities Extension opportunities Fast credentialing processes #J-18808-Ljbffr HealthForce Healthcare
