Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Every Other Weekend Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide emergency nursing care in a combined adult and pediatric emergency department setting with mixed/shared acuity levels at a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Perform phlebotomy and IV placement as mandatory competencies required of all RNs in this role
• Monitor, interpret, and manage dysrhythmias; administer emergency medications, IV vasopressors, continuous IV sedation, continuous IV paralytics, and procedural sedation
• Manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, including central line care, blood product administration, and CVA protocols
• Maintain strict isolation precautions as required by patient condition and facility policy
• Float to other units when census warrants

Required Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered New York State RN license — must be in hand at time of submission (pending licenses not accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of emergency department experience (first-time travelers accepted)
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Epic EMR experience is a hard requirement
• Demonstrated competency in phlebotomy and IV insertion
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience with procedural sedation administration and IV vasopressor management
• Familiarity with CVA care protocols and isolation precaution practices
• Experience in a high-acuity, combined adult/pediatric emergency department environment
