Respiratory Therapist

Role Overview The Respiratory Therapist provides critical respiratory care by applying clinical skills and knowledge gained through education and experience. A registered RT demonstrates competency by passing NBRC exams and earning the RRT credential. Responsibilities include assessing patients, developing, implementing, and evaluating care plans, administering medications, and delivering health education to patients and families. The role involves clinical leadership, collaboration with healthcare teams, and supporting continuous learning. Key Responsibilities Assess patient condition and develop personalized care plans Implement and evaluate care strategies Administer prescribed medications and treatments Educate patients, families, and caregivers on health management Serve as a clinical resource and provide leadership within the care team Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support healthcare delivery enhancements Qualifications & Skills Current state licensure and RRT credential per NBRC standards Recent clinical respiratory care experience in hospital, home care, or skilled nursing settings Successful completion of hospital and departmental orientation Basic computer skills with Windows and Microsoft Office Certification in BLS within 14 days of hire; ACLS preferred Effective communication and teamwork abilities #J-18808-Ljbffr
