Certified Surgical Technologist

Location: New York

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: Mid 4x10-hour shift (13:00 - 23:30), with flexibility to work 11:00 - 21:30 as needed.

Job Description: The Certified Surgical Technologist will support surgeons and surgical teams during various surgical procedures by ensuring necessary instruments and supplies are available and by maintaining a sterile environment. The role requires a deep understanding of surgical procedures and instruments, in addition to strict adherence to safety protocols.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the preparation and maintenance of the sterile field during surgical procedures.
• Handle surgical instruments and supplies carefully and efficiently.
• Ensure proper decontamination and sterilization processes are followed.
• Participate in surgical time-outs and adhere to universal protocol.
• Maintain a high level of cleanliness and organization in the operating room.
• Collaborate effectively with the surgical team and communicate clearly regarding needs during procedures.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• 3 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist preferred.
• Current Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) required.
• Experience with a variety of surgical procedures including but not limited to laparoscopic surgeries, thyroidectomies, and orthopedic procedures.
• Knowledge of Aseptic Technique and Safety Protocols.
• Ability to use Epic electronic charting system preferred.
