Assistant Athletic Trainer (part-time)

Assistant Athletic Trainer (part-time) Salary Range: Commensurate with experience Work Schedule: Flexible, part‑time schedule based on varsity sport assignment(s), including evenings and weekends. Responsibilities Adhere to and enforce departmental, institutional, MAC, MAC Freedom, NCAA, and other applicable policies and regulations. Provide medical coverage for assigned home varsity events and practices as directed. Assess student‑athletes and administer preventative and post‑injury treatments/rehabilitation throughout the year; perform emergency first aid as needed. Work with sports medicine staff to manage inventory of equipment and supplies; oversee maintenance of all equipment. Evaluate environmental conditions for safety of intercollegiate sports contests. Collaborate with Campus Health Services, dietitian, Strength and Conditioning, and Counseling & Psychological Services on student‑athlete health issues. Maintain up‑to‑date injury documentation and treatment records. Regular day, early morning, late nights, and weekend hours required; some travel may be involved. Complete required departmental and institutional training, certification programs, and professional development opportunities. Perform in‑service training and drills to educate staff. Maintain New Jersey Athletic Training Licensure and board certifications by completing continuing education requirements. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred. Previous college‑level experience preferred. Effective communication skills: written, interpersonal, and public speaking. Willingness to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Licenses & Certifications BOC and CPR/AED certification required; New Jersey state licensure preferred. Compensation Hourly base range: $50.00 – $65.00.
