We're growing our Advisory Practice and are looking for an experienced Capital Program Advisory Manager who is passionate about helping clients solve complex organizational and operational challenges while driving meaningful business outcomes.

About the Role

As a Capital Program Advisory Manager, you'll serve as a trusted advisor to construction owners, capital program executives, and project leadership teams. You'll lead consulting engagements focused on improving organizational performance, project delivery, governance, business processes, and PMIS strategy across complex capital programs.

This role combines strategic consulting, operational improvement, and client relationship management. You'll work directly with executive stakeholders to assess current operations, identify opportunities for improvement, and deliver practical solutions that enhance the way capital programs are planned, managed, and executed.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of owner-side capital program experience and understands the challenges organizations face when managing large construction portfolios.

This position reports to the Delivery Manager, Advisory Center of Excellence.

What You'll Do

Lead Client Engagements

• Lead discovery workshops, interviews, and assessments with executive leadership and project teams
• Serve as the primary client advisor throughout consulting engagements
• Build trusted relationships with owners and senior stakeholders
• Facilitate executive discussions and guide strategic decision-making
• Ensure projects remain aligned with client goals, scope, and expectations

Improve Capital Program Performance

• Evaluate organizational structures, governance models, project controls, and delivery processes
• Facilitate current-state assessments and future-state process design workshops
• Recommend best practices that improve efficiency, accountability, and transparency
• Develop practical solutions that strengthen capital planning and project delivery
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across capital programs

Provide Strategic Advisory Services

• Assess organizational readiness and operational maturity
• Advise clients on PMIS strategy, selection, optimization, governance, and adoption
• Develop recommendations that improve project controls, reporting, and decision-making
• Support digital transformation initiatives that improve organizational effectiveness

Manage Consulting Engagements

• Lead multiple client engagements simultaneously
• Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, resources, and risks
• Coordinate internal consulting teams and client stakeholders
• Mentor analysts and consultants while ensuring high-quality project delivery

Develop Executive Deliverables

• Prepare executive presentations, advisory reports, process maps, governance documentation, and strategic recommendations
• Present findings to executive leadership and client stakeholders
• Translate complex operational and technical information into clear, actionable recommendations
• Ensure deliverables meet the highest standards of quality and professionalism

Support Practice Growth

• Stay current on industry trends, construction technology, and capital program best practices
• Contribute to the development of advisory methodologies and service offerings
• Support proposal development, client presentations, and business development efforts
• Help identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Business, Project Management, or a related field
• 10+ years of experience working directly for a project owner organization in roles such as:
• Owner Project Manager
• Construction Manager
• Program Manager
• Capital Projects Manager
• Demonstrated experience managing capital projects from the owner's perspective
• Experience overseeing consultants, contractors, project budgets, schedules, governance, and stakeholder engagement
• Strong understanding of:
• Capital program management
• Project controls
• Governance
• Budgeting and scheduling
• Risk management
• Change management
• Organizational performance
• Experience developing project management standards, governance frameworks, and reporting processes
• Exceptional communication, facilitation, and executive presentation skills
• Proven ability to manage multiple consulting engagements in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous management consulting or advisory services experience
• Experience leading organizational transformation or business process improvement initiatives
• Experience with enterprise PMIS platforms, including:
• Kahua
• Oracle Primavera Unifier
• e-Builder
• Procore
• Autodesk Construction Cloud
• Similar capital program technologies
• Familiarity with digital transformation initiatives within owner organizations
• PMP, CCM, DBIA, PgMP, or other relevant professional certifications are a plus
