Litigation Paralegal

Job Summary The Paralegal will support attorneys by performing a variety of tasks including legal research, document preparation, case management, and administrative duties. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of legal procedures and terminology. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Assist attorneys in the preparation and management of cases, including drafting and organizing legal documents, pleadings, motions, subpoenas, discovery requests, and responses. Review, organize, and analyze case files, discovery documents, and evidence. Assist with document production in compliance with court orders, client requests, and deadlines. Assist with the preparation and response to discovery requests (interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admissions). Track and manage discovery deadlines and responses. Prepare and electronically file legal documents with local, state, and federal courts. Ensure compliance with filing deadlines and procedural requirements. (i.e. NYSCEF, PACER, etc.) Assist with arbitration hearing preparation, including the preparation of exhibits, witness lists, and hearing binders. Coordinate with witnesses and experts for hearing support. Assist with trial preparation, including the preparation of exhibits, witness lists, and trial binders. Coordinate with witnesses and experts for trial support. Serve as a liaison between clients, attorneys, and third parties. Ensure effective communication regarding case developments, deadlines, and required information. Maintain case files, update case management systems, and track deadlines. Assist with billing, timekeeping, and file organization. Additional responsibilities specific to your assigned practice group may be required. Qualifications and Requirements Associate’s degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field. A bachelor’s degree is preferred. Relevant Paralegal certification (i.e. ACEBS) is preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience as a paralegal or in a legal support role. Work experience as a practicing paralegal in litigation is preferred. Familiarity with Westlaw, Westlaw Edge, and Aderant, preferred. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Demonstrated knowledge of organizational workflow and processes. Strong interpersonal and communication skills - both written and verbal. Excellent internet and computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Adobe, Power Point, and Excel.
