Gala Event Coordinator Position Summary

The Gala Event Coordinator responsible for managing the operations of our signature gala event and will play a pivotal role in ensuring this event is impactful, seamless, and memorable.

Key Responsibilities Event Planning & Logistics

Coordinate catering, entertainment, any AV needs, décor, and other event elements.

Outreach to corporate sponsors, philanthropists, foundations, and other stakeholders to support fundraising goals a plus.

Event Execution

• Serve as the main point of contact during events to address any issues and ensure smooth operations.
• Manage run of show to ensure seamless operations of event.
• Oversee event volunteers and staff to ensure roles are clearly defined and executed.
• Manage event registration processes and attendee communication.
• Coordinate setup, teardown, and post-event clean-up.

Qualifications

• Gala planning and execution experience required. 
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in event planning, fundraising, or nonprofit coordination.
• Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with event management software, fundraising and bidding software required. 
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
• Passion for Neway Works’ mission and the ability to convey it effectively.
• Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, or a related field preferred or equivalent experience.
