The American College of Physicians (ACP) is seeking an Analyst, Regulatory Affairs for our Washington, DC office. ACP, a national organization of internal medicine physicians with headquarters in Philadelphia, is the largest medical specialty organization and the second-largest physician group in the United States with 163,000 members worldwide. This is a full-time hybrid position with two days per week in the Washington, DC office required.

The Analyst, Regulatory Affairs is responsible for conducting research and assisting with the analysis of health policy activities related to regulatory affairs, including payment and delivery reforms; value-based payment, and health information technology (HIT). They will serve as a point of contact for member and other inquiries regarding a wide range of issues relating to regulatory affairs and priorities across the College.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Conducting research on and analysis of health policy and delivery system reforms, health-insurance related issues, administrative burden; practice management; HIT; and federal and state regulatory activities.
• Assisting ACP staff in tracking activity of federal agencies and where relevant, legislative agencies as well.
• Maintaining general and current knowledge on a variety of issues including HIT, payment reform and value-based payment activites; and other regulatory topics.
• Supporting the maintenance of educational tools and materials, providing member support, and maintaining web-based content specific to regulatory affairs.
• Providing staff support (i.e., prepares agendas for relevant committees and councils, drafts background materials, drafts action items, etc.,) to the Senior Associate and other staff, where appropriate, on issues in their content area and as needed in other areas.
• Under the guidance of senior level staff, analyzing the impact of federal legislation and regulations on health policy and the practice of internal medicine.
• Assisting, under supervision, in the development of Congressional testimony, letters, and materials that highlight and reinforce ACP policies for educational and advocacy purposes.
• Assisting in the preparation of summaries, briefings, articles, reports on regulatory issues and communication items for ACP audiences on pertinent items.
• Assisting the Manager and Director with coordination of member invoices, agreements/contracts, reports, member registration and payments, and other activities related to the Practice Advisor.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 1 year of experience in regulatory affairs, digital health, AI, or medical informatics required.
• Strong writing skills with a demonstrated ability to summarize issues in a succinct manner, highlighting key points and communicating self-gathered insights from material.
• Excellent computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required.
• Basic understanding of the legislative and executive branch of government.
• Basic understanding of regulatory agencies involved in public health policy.
• Familiarity with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT preferred.
