Job Title: Med/Surg/Tele RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: MedSurg/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years Med/Tele RN experience preferred License: Active RN license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - General Med/Tele skillset - Stroke experience - Cardiac rhythm interpretation - Trach care - PIV starts - Chest tube management - NGT placement - Drain/tube management including Dobhoff and PEG tubes - PCA pumps - Medication management including cardiac drips, Heparin, blood products, IVF Description: We are seeking a Med/Surg/Tele Registered Nurse. The nurse will focus on adult and geriatric patient care. Common diagnoses include COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, CHF exacerbation, fall injuries, MVC with injuries, pulmonary embolism, DVT, UTI, pneumothorax, GI bleeds, and CVA. Patient ratios will vary depending on the unit and acuity levels. The nurse will collaborate with CNAs who will assist with vital signs, blood sugars, hygiene care, and rounding. Secretarial support is available for administrative tasks. A charge nurse will be present to assist with patient flow and duties. Phlebotomy services and telemetry monitoring are provided 24/7. Nurses will be responsible for monitoring telemetry themselves, completing required interpretations during their shifts. Floating to other units may be required based on regional needs and within the scope of practice. Weekend rotations will occur every other week. Travelers will be expected to work a significant portion of holidays. The culture is inclusive and supportive, functioning like a family unit.
