Metrologist (Laser Inspector)

Eleven Recruiting is searching for a Laser Inspector for one of our largest space and defense clients in El Monte, CA. This innovative manufacturer delivers concept-to-production solutions for spacecraft, launch vehicles, missiles, hypersonics, and integrated defense systems. In this role, the Laser Inspector will play a critical part in ensuring product conformance by performing precision laser inspections, generating inspection data packages, and collaborating with Customer Representatives (Source Inspectors) to verify compliance prior to product delivery. The inspector will also support manufacturing teams in verifying assemblies and contribute directly to product conformity, safety, and mission success in line with aerospace and defense quality standards. 



Responsibilities:

• Perform laser, mechanical, and visual inspections on precision parts and assemblies, utilizing engineering data and electronic models. 
• Generate accurate inspection reports and maintain proper documentation. 
• Present products and inspection data packages to Customer Source Inspectors to validate compliance. 
• Support AS procedures, quality management systems, and continuous improvement initiatives. 
• Collaborate with Production to meet inspection schedules and resolve quality issues. 
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in compliance with aerospace standards. 
• Understand and communicate the impact of product failure on customer applications. 
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support overall manufacturing and quality objectives. 

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required. 
• 3+ years of experience inspecting machined parts and assemblies, including the use of laser inspection technology and practices. 
• 3+ years of experience working with Customer Source Inspectors in aerospace/defense environments. 
• Proven track record in generating inspection reports and supporting customer verification processes. 
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with excellent verbal and written communication abilities. 
• Advanced blueprint and CAD model interpretation skills. 
• Working knowledge of aerospace customer requirements and specifications. 
• Proficiency in Mastercam and VERISURF software for inspection programming and data analysis. 
• Hands-on experience operating laser inspection equipment with VERISURF integration. 
• Familiarity with Catia modeling software for engineering data interpretation. 
• Ability to work directly with internal and external customers in resolving inspection or conformance issues. 
• Knowledge of quality management systems (QMS), reporting, recordkeeping, and compliance with AS9100 standards. 
• Commitment to ongoing training and staying current on customer and regulatory requirements.

Salary: $72,800 - $90,000
