Job Summary The Production Supervisor oversees day‑to‑day production operations and staff to ensure timely and efficient workflow. The role is responsible for achieving productivity targets and maintaining health, quality and food safety standards. Key duties include leading a team of workers, overseeing employee issues and concerns, providing training, managing performance, and ensuring compliance with company and statutory hygiene, safety, and food safety policies. Responsibilities Provide guidance to line leaders and production workforce regarding performance management, employee relations, business context, profitability and staff development. Ensure delivery of production goals and objectives by establishing clear quality methods for staff. Support the Production Manager in staying within labor and throughput budget; monitor and measure performance to minimize downtime, reduce costs and improve quality and efficiencies. Complete required documentation, records and checklists; submit to appropriate management personnel. Communicate and address variances, quality issues and concerns with relevant departments to identify causes and implement sustainable corrective actions. Monitor the working environment to ensure compliance with company and statutory hygiene and safety policies and procedures. Maintain confidentiality of all proprietary information and personnel data. Conduct pre‑shift meetings and end‑of‑shift reports. Touch base with new employees weekly. Collaborate with Commodity, Inventory, Receiving, Shipping and Quality departments to ensure an efficient workflow and that production requirements and reworked product consistently match specifications. Requirements & Skills High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in business administration, supply chain management, engineering or related discipline preferred. Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a production environment or related supervisory role. Intermediate skills in Microsoft (MS) Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices, Health and Safety, Food Safety, HACCP principles. Understanding of legislative requirements to maintain compliance with all relevant statutes and guiding principles. Proven ability to lead and motivate a team. Excellent analytical, time‑management and organizational skills. Commitment to high professional and ethical standards. Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team. Ability to work in a high‑stress, fast‑paced environment. Must be flexible to shift assignments as required to meet customer and business needs. Working Conditions Hours may vary depending on business needs; flexibility required. Work is performed in a refrigerated warehouse with temperatures ranging from 45–55°F and can be loud due to packaging machinery and forklift operation. Employees are frequently required to stand, walk, bend, twist, use hands to handle or feel product or packaging, and reach with hands and arms; specific vision capabilities required. Position involves walking and lifting regularly up to 30 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds. Standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines are used.
