General Production Worker

Job Title: General Production Worker Job Description
The General Production Worker supports daily manufacturing operations by loading and unloading materials, assisting with machine processes, and ensuring products are properly packaged, labeled, and prepared for shipment. This role works in a production and warehouse environment and plays a key part in maintaining efficient workflow and product quality.
Responsibilities

• Load and unload product on and off production machines in a safe and efficient manner.
• Assist with material blending as needed, following established procedures and guidelines.
• Package finished products according to specifications, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
• Label products correctly and prepare items for shipping, including organizing and staging orders.
• Support machine operators with running the area when needed, including basic machine operation tasks.
• Handle general labor tasks within the production and warehouse environment as assigned.
• Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment when needed, if experienced and authorized.
• Follow all safety procedures while lifting, pushing, and moving materials and equipment.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safe and efficient operations.
• Read and understand work instructions and other documentation in English to complete tasks correctly.

Essential Skills

• Ability to read and understand English to follow work instructions and safety guidelines.
• Capability to lift up to 50 lbs of material and load it into receptacles on a regular basis.
• Ability to push reels, materials, or equipment weighing between 40 and 60 lbs as needed.
• Comfort with standing, bending, and stretching for the duration of 12-hour shifts.
• Willingness to work in a general production and warehouse environment.
• Reliability and consistency in following safety procedures and operational instructions.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in production, manufacturing, or warehouse environments is a plus.
• Forklift experience is a plus and may be used for warehouse shipping and material handling.
• General labor and machine operating experience in an industrial setting is beneficial.
• Ability to adapt to different tasks and assist operators in various areas of the facility.

Work Environment
This role is based in a production and warehouse setting with 12-hour shifts from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., requiring extended periods of standing, bending, and stretching while performing physical tasks. You will work around machinery, materials, and equipment that require safe lifting and pushing of loads between 40 and 60 lbs. The environment emphasizes safety, teamwork, and ongoing performance evaluation, with a six-month review that may lead to a pay raise based on performance.

This is a Contract position based out of Pawcatuck, CT.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
