Area ManagerPlaya Bowls is New Jersey's Original Acai Shop, founded in 2014, and our mission is to bring superfruit bowls to the masses using only the freshest, highest quality ingredients while providing a fantastic in-store brand experience. What began as a pair of blenders, a patio table, and a fridge has flourished into a 350+ unit operator and franchisor of the leading fast casual restaurant concept. Playa Bowls added 85 locations in 2025 and are on target to add 90+ new locations in 2026. Our continued rapid growth has created the opportunity for an individual who will help us with continuing to grow our brand!The Area Manager (AM) is a key member of the Operations team, reporting directly to the Director of Company Operations. This is a regional based role in the Metro Atlanta area. The Area Manager's responsibility is to oversee an assigned area of Playa Bowl locations and is responsible for creating and cultivating the Playa Bowls culture with all team members in the system. They are people developers, and know how to motivate, train, hold accountable and have fun with their teams. They are planners but can also fight fires in the business when necessary. They excel in business planning, driving operational excellence and guest experience. They will provide business acumen and financial management with effective communication. They will perform all responsibilities with the utmost dignity and respect while garnering effective relationships via mutual trust and respect.Demonstrates the Playa Bowls values of community, respect, integrity, quality and passion in words and actionsAssess and analyze the shops KPI's to understand where the stores are performing relative to Playa Bowls brand benchmarks and puts plans in place to achieve resultsLead, Influence and hold General Managers accountable to achieving KPI'sMonitoring shop performance, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing strategies to improve operations and guest satisfactionDrives the business through mentoring and training management and builds a personal development plans for their GM'sAccountable for Building Great Management Teams in shop from GM to team members.Conduct site evaluations and put in place action plans which foster improved overall unit level performanceProvide written communication within 24 hours regarding visits and evaluationMaintain, support, and compliance in the Food Safety and SanitationComplete annual business forecasting and budgets for area of responsibilityMaintains Operational Excellence in shop every day and ever shift by following all processes and proceduresRollout training for all new products and proceduresEnsure shops are following all processes and procedures to achieve operational excellenceConducts Performance evaluations on Team, develops development plans and KPI tracking and holding team accountable for delivering results3-5 years' relevant experience; previous experience supervising a multi-unit business environment preferred multi-unit supervision requiredAbility to build strong working relationships with General Managers, Assistant Managers, Shift Leaders, Team members and community partnershipsAbility to multi-task, have strong organization skills, and proven ability to manage conflictAdvanced knowledge of consultative approaches and experience guiding leaders to make solid business decisionsStrong business acumen skills with the ability to plan and set clear priorities to achieve business objectivesAbility to work independently and adapt to changing environmentsExcellent communication skills; both written and oral, as well as listening skillsTravel is required for restaurant visitation, scheduled meetings, or company functions, otherwise work is completed in a home office settingMust be available to work weekendsMust be able to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods of timeMust be able to lift or otherwise move 25-40 pounds occasionallyMust be able to retrieve items from high and low shelving, the fridge/freezer, and under counters.Inspire and support our communities one bowl at a time.Real Deal.
