Athletic Trainer - Limited Term (Women's Basketball)

May include prevention and treatment of injuries; therapy, coordination of medications, first aid/CPR training, equipment movement and storage; and liaison with physician and healthcare facilities. Specific duties may vary based on sports team assignments. This position will interact on a consistent basis with training staff, student athletes, and coaching staff. This position typically will advise and counsel student athletes and student trainers. This position may supervise training staff members. Responsibilities Perform first aid; treat or refer injuries. Assist in rehabilitation efforts. Maintain and furnish safety equipment and supplies. Provide first aid and CPR training to staff and coaches. Liaise with outside physicians and healthcare facilities and services regarding healthcare delivery. Prepare and maintain training records and reports. May supervise and provide work guidance to training staff members. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Master's Degree in Athletic Training or an educational program accredited by the National Athletic Trainers Association - Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer. Certification from the Board for Athletic Trainers, CAATE, NTA or other accredited body for Athletic trainers. Experience One to two years of job related experience. Skills Working knowledge of preventive physical care for athletes, injury treatment and rehabilitation methodology within an intercollegiate sports program environment.
