JOB SUMMARY
Cinegration is looking for an experienced Lead Installation Technician to lead the installation and completion of high-end smart home projects throughout the Denver metro area and Colorado mountain communities. This position is responsible for the full scope of assigned projects in the field, including coordinating daily job-site activities, directing supporting Installation Technicians, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring each system is installed, programmed, and completed to Cinegration’s standards.

The Lead Installation Technician will install, configure, program, and troubleshoot integrated technology systems including Control4 automation, audio/video, networking, lighting control, motorized shades, security and surveillance, climate control, and related equipment. This role requires strong technical knowledge, advanced problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to identify and resolve potential installation or design issues in the field.

The ideal candidate is a skilled and experienced technician who takes ownership of their projects, is comfortable making decisions and leading others on the job site, and takes pride in delivering clean, reliable, high-quality installations. They should enjoy mentoring developing technicians, working collaboratively with the broader project team, and continually expanding their knowledge as technology and industry standards evolve.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead smart home installations from project start through completion according to the project design and bid
• Direct and oversee supporting Installation Technicians on the job site
• Run and terminate low-voltage wiring, including CAT6, coax, and fiber
• Build, wire, configure, and maintain equipment racks
• Install, configure, and program Control4, audio/video, networking, lighting, motorized shades, security and surveillance, climate control, and related smart home systems
• Complete advanced Control4 programming and system integration
• Troubleshoot on-site issues, diagnose advanced service calls, and determine appropriate solutions
• Identify potential design issues, equipment incompatibilities, and project obstacles and communicate recommended solutions
• Review project requirements and ensure necessary equipment and materials are prepared for each job
• Communicate project progress, changes, equipment needs, and field issues to Project Managers and other appropriate team members
• Complete required job notes, documentation, and project updates
• Communicate professionally with clients, set expectations, and demonstrate completed systems
• Maintain clean and organized job sites, tools, equipment, and company vehicle
• Manage assigned van inventory and return unused equipment to the office
• Perform site surveys and other project-related duties as needed

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• Minimum 2 years installation experience in the AV industry
• Control4 Associate Installer and Automation Programmer certifications required
• Strong knowledge of smart home systems and the software used to configure and program them
• Experience with networking, security, audio/video, and rack building
• Ability to troubleshoot audio, video, networking, and control system issues
• Ability to read and understand schematic drawings and project plans
• General knowledge of residential construction
• Proficiency with basic hand and power tools
• Ability to lead and direct supporting technicians, make decisions, and take action when necessary
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to identify solutions in the field
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet project deadlines
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and pride in workmanship
• Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills
• Proactive, self-directed, dependable, and able to remain calm under pressure
• Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and reliable transportation
• Ability to pass a background check
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work from ladders of at least 15 feet
