Traveling Electrical TIG WelderSeeking a Traveling Electrical TIG Welder for a direct hire opportunity with our client based in St. Cloud MN. Travel will be required up to 60%. Only candidates located in Minnesota, South Dakota, North Dakota, Iowa, or Wisconsin will be considered.This position offers full benefits including PTO, Medical, Dental and 401k!Starting Pay: Starting at 27 then $35.10/hour after successful completion of the first three weeks of training. Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, per diem (while traveling), and 100% employer-paid hotels, flights, and rental vehicles.This role combines TIG welding with hands-on electrical field service at power generation facilities across the United States, including nuclear and non-nuclear power plants. You'll perform aluminum TIG welding while also inspecting, maintaining, refurbishing, and installing electrical bus duct systems.ResponsibilitiesPerform aluminum TIG welding on horizontal and vertical pipe (1/8"–1" thickness)Complete approximately 80% electrical bus duct inspection, maintenance, installation, and refurbishment workPerform up to 20% TIG welding, depending on project requirementsInspect, clean, paint, silver plate, and refurbish bus duct systemsInstall bus duct systems, including rigging, alignment, and torquingRead blueprints and follow detailed procedures and safety standardsMaintain accurate field documentation and job recordsKeep work areas clean, organized, and safeCollaborate with foremen and crew members while actively seeking feedback and guidanceComplete required computer-based training and testingTravel & ScheduleTravel approximately 60% throughout the U.S.Assignments typically last 2–8 weeks, with some extending up to 3–6 monthsEmergency outage response is required, with the ability to mobilize within 24 hours (approximately 6–8 emergency calls per year)Expect extended schedules during outages, including 6-day/10-hour or 7-day/12-hour workweeksDay and night shifts are required based on project needsWorkload is heaviest during the spring and fall outage seasonsA REAL ID or valid passport is required for air travelQualificationsMinimum 2 years of TIG welding experience with aluminum or stainless steel (professional experience; school experience alone does not qualify)Welding certification from an accredited school preferredValid driver's licenseOSHA 10 certification required before start dateComfortable working at heights and in confined industrial environmentsWilling to travel extensivelyAbility to become certified under company welding procedures, including SMAW, GTAW, and GMAW processesAbility to read blueprints and technical documentsStrong communication and teamwork skillsBasic computer proficiencyAbility to lift up to 50 poundsPre-Employment RequirementsThis is a safety-sensitive position supporting critical infrastructure and federal projects.
