As a Security Officer Medical facility in New York, NY , this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $18.87 / Hour

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service by carrying out site-specific procedures, access control activities, and appropriate emergency response actions at a healthcare-related location.
• Respond to incidents, unusual activity, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while documenting security-related concerns and reporting them through proper channels.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout interior areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related issues.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify visitor and staff credentials as required, and support screening procedures consistent with location policies.
• Assist with maintaining order in sensitive operational areas by following post orders, communicating with site contacts, and helping with incident response and de-escalation when needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
• Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
• The ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• A state, county, or city issued security-related license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
