Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery / Postpartum

Location: New Braunfels, TX

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: Nights 7PM - 7AM

Job Description: The Registered Nurse practices independently and demonstrates an awareness of all relevant aspects of patient care in Labor & Delivery and Postpartum settings. This role includes providing routine and complex care tailored to the needs of patients and their families.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process for assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation of assigned patients.
• Address complex psychological, emotional, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administer medications and treatments following appropriate protocols, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided.
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients and families.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (preferred).
• 1 year of experience in Labor & Delivery or related nursing specialty (preferred).
• Current RN License in the state of Texas or compact.
• BLS certification required (American Heart Association only).
• Current certification in AWHONN Intermediate FHM or NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM).
• Current STABLE certification for the post-resuscitation/pre-transport stabilization care of sick infants.
• Current NRP and ACLS certifications required.
