Allen Sports Association (ASA) is a nonprofit youth sports organization dedicated to providing leadership, structure, and sports programs that prepare kids for life. Since 1976, ASA has served families throughout Allen, Lucas, Fairview, and surrounding communities through recreational & competitive sports programs. Today, ASA facilitates more than 17,000 annual registrations across nine sports and is supported by thousands of dedicated volunteers. Position Summary ASA is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Finance Administrator to lead the organization’s financial operations. This position serves as the primary financial professional for the association and plays a critical role in ensuring the organization’s financial stability, compliance, and long-term success. The Finance Administrator reports directly to the Executive Director and serves as the organization’s lead financial professional. The position works closely with the Executive Director, staff, volunteer leadership, auditors, and external partners to oversee accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, payroll administration, and financial planning activities. This is a full-time, salaried (exempt), in-office position based in Allen, Texas. Regular office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. While the majority of work is performed during standard business hours, occasional early morning, evening and weekend meetings or special events may be required throughout the year. Responsibilities Manage all accounts payable and accounts receivable functions. Perform monthly and year-end close processes. Maintain accurate accounting records and chart of accounts. Complete monthly bank reconciliations and supporting schedules. Maintain strong internal controls, policies, and procedures. Coordinate annual 1099 reporting and other year-end financial activities. Budgeting & Financial Planning Lead the development and management of the annual operating budget. Partner with program staff and volunteer leadership to develop sport-specific budgets. Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis. Prepare financial forecasts and projections. Provide financial analysis and recommendations to organizational leadership. Reporting & Compliance Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Coordinate the annual external audit process. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local reporting requirements. Maintain financial records in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Payroll & Human Resources Support Serve as the primary liaison with the organization’s outsourced HR and payroll provider. Process payroll-related submissions and employee changes. Assist with onboarding and offboarding administrative processes. Qualifications Required Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field. Minimum five (5) years of accounting or finance experience. Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Thorough Knowledge of QuickBooks. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication abilities. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Preferred Nonprofit accounting experience preferred, but not required. Experience coordinating annual audits. Experience working with volunteer-led organizations, associations, or youth-serving nonprofits.
